The UCLA Advanced Heart Failure Lab has a longstanding interest, in the context of the expanding global epidemy of heart failure, in translational systems biology and personalized medicine. Our lab's focus is positioned at the intersection of the immune and cardiovascular systems. We aim to better understand the mechanisms of heart failure progression, related organ dysfunction and cardiac allograft rejection to better predict outcomes. Developing cutting-edge molecular immunology biomarker tests enhance the shared decision-making process, so the patient may experience a humanistically sound clinical encounter.
